ANNOUNCING TEAM SELECTION FOR THE 2025 ROYAL NEWFOUNDLAND REGIMENT HIGH SCHOOL MEMORIAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
April 5, 2025
Congratulations to the 16 girls teams and 16 boys teams selected to compete in the 2025 RNFLDR Memorial High School Hockey Tournament. The annual provincial high school hockey championship will be held in Paradise and St. John’s from April 28 – May 4. The best high school hockey teams from across NL will compete for the Beaumont-Hamel Cup and Beaumont-Hamel Centennial Cup – including Labrador participation for the first time.
With 32 teams from across NL, this is the largest high school hockey tournament in the province. It is dedicated to the memory of the fallen of The Royal Newfoundland Regiment and all those who served. The tournament is run by a volunteer Board of Directors, many of whom are retired from the Regiment, in collaboration with The Royal Newfoundland Regiment, NL Schools and Hockey NL.
Tournament highlights include: an opening ceremony with a performance by the Regimental Band and a Remembrance ceremony, on-ice parade of flags, skills competition, closing ceremony, kit shop, 50/50 draws, and Player of the Game presentations by serving Regimental soldiers. Many of the players, coaching staff and their families are descendants of members of the Regiment and proudly share their Regimental connections. Trophies and awards are named for significant battles and members of the Regiment.
Games are live streamed by Rogers TV and broadcast on Rogers TV for free.
